Sanitizer — Privacy Policy

What Sanitizer does with your data

All processing — document conversion, text recognition (OCR), removal of sensitive data, indexing, and search — runs locally on your device. Your documents, the sanitized versions of them, search indexes, redaction vaults, and all settings are stored only on your device, under your user profile. Sanitizer has no accounts, no sign-in, no telemetry, no analytics, and no advertising.

What Sanitizer collects or transmits

Nothing. Sanitizer does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or document content. The publisher receives no data from your use of the app.

Network connections the app can make

Sanitizer makes network connections only in these limited, user-initiated cases, and none of them carry document content or personal data:

• Check for updates (About tab): contacts the Microsoft Store catalog to compare version numbers.
• Optional model download: if a detection or search model was not bundled with your installation, the app downloads it from its public source when you request the feature that needs it.

Local AI assistant integration

Sanitizer registers a local connector so AI assistants installed on your computer (such as Claude or Codex) can search the sanitized document workspace on your device. What those assistants do with text you allow them to read is governed by their own privacy policies. Sanitizer itself sends nothing to any AI service, and the original (unsanitized) documents and the un-redaction vault are never exposed through this connector.

Your control

Deleting a project inside Sanitizer, or uninstalling the app and removing its data folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Sanitizer), permanently removes everything the app stored. There is nothing to delete anywhere else, because nothing exists anywhere else.
